Mini Facelift

Facelift procedures are generally preferred by middle-aged patients who want more permanent results.

Mini facelift removes minor sagging along the middle of your face. They only require a small incision behind your ear; better still, recovery is quick.

This procedure not only stretches your skin but also moves your soft tissues and connective tissues under your skin upward. Then, everything gets stabilized with sutures.

Given that a certain amount of skin can be stretched, your natural expression won’t deteriorate – only your subcutaneous form and skin tightness change.

    Advantages

    Mini facelift:

    • Rids you of excess, sagging, and loose skin around the middle of your face.
    • Turns back the clock on your subcutaneous soft tissue by 10 to 15 years
    • Makes your skin tighter and smoother
    • Makes your face look fresher and younger
    • Won’t leave behind any visible scars (they’re hidden behind your ear)
    • Is relatively permanent

Many various surgical and non-surgical procedures are available in the plastic surgery to rejuvenate, change, and beautify you.

Mini facelift offers more permanent and striking results – that’s the difference!

During your examination, Dr. Ozsular will listen to your expectations and complaints and examine your skin, subcutaneous tissues, muscles, mimics, and how much sagging you have.

If he deems you an ideal candidate for this procedure, he’ll next photograph you from different angles, make drawings and plans, and then use those photos and simulation to give you a preview of what your results may look like.

Before the surgery, if the doctor asks you to have any test done, do so. Also if you’re on any medications, inform him. Likewise, the same goes for anticoagulants – if he tells you stop using them, do so, as they can increase your bleeding.

Try to reduce how much salt you consume as well before the surgery. This will reduce your risk of developing edema.

Try to either quit or cut back smoking 3 weeks before th surgery, as it could slow down your wound/tissue healing.

If you’re going to dye your hair, do so 10 days before the surgery. You won’t be able to do so for 1 month after the surgery.

Whilst this surgery can be done under local anesthesia, we generally conduct it under general anesthesia for your comfort. Thus:

You are allowed to eat as well as drink water until 00:00 (12 AM) the night before your surgery. Since the surgery will be conducted with general anesthesia, you will need to fast for at least six hours prior to the procedure. (If you forget to do so, your surgery may be postponed or canceled.)

Don’t put on make-up, nail polish or enamel.

Don’t wear wigs. Don’t wear any jewelry (including piercings) – your body should be free of metal.

Also, don’t forget to put together an overnight bag – including loose (around the neck), casual clothes (preferably with zippers/buttons) to make it easier for you to get dressed- before you come in for the surgery.

On the morning of the surgery, you will be taken to your room to rest. Your final preparations for the surgery will be conducted. Dr. Ozsular and his assistant will come and visit you.

The doctor will begin working on you as soon as you’re placed under anesthesia.

At the end of surgery, the doctor will numb you with local anesthesia (so that you’re comfortable) and make your dressing, and then awake you up.

You won’t feel any pain; however, you may feel dizzy for the first few hours after the surgery– this is caused by the effects of anesthesia.

Dr. Ozsular will visit you afterwards and inform you about how everything went.

You will develop swelling and edema around your ear area a few hours after the surgery. You can alleviate this swelling by applying a cold compress as prescribed by the doctor.

You can begin to eat four hours after surgery – preferably a warm soup.

If you feel well, you can go home the same day.

You’ll be given mild analgesics so that you’re not in pain for the first few days.

You can return to work and your normal routine 7 to 10 days later.

Your swelling and edema will subside 5 to 8 days later.

You won’t require any bed rest until your first control. If you take good care of yourself, you can go for walks, rest, and even travel.

Your first control will take place 3 to 5 days after the surgery. Your dressings will be changed then.

Avoid hot or pressurized environments such as Turkish baths and saunas.

You can begin to do Pilates and stretching again 6 weeks later. That said, avoid intensive exercises for first 6 to 8 weeks.

Anyone (female or male) between age 40 and 55, and with minimum sagging on their face

Mini facelift poses less risk for nerve damage than full facelift.

Being younger and looking younger are relative. While surgery will make your skin smoother, tighter, and fuller, and rejuvenate it, we cannot tell you how exactly many years younger it will make you look. Some people have baby-like faces; lift and extra support may make them look 20 years younger. Others look only 5 to 10 years younger.

It all depends on the nature of your surgery, how well you age, and your quality of life. For some people, it only lasts 5 to 10 years; for others, it’s permanent.

The edema on your face should subside 20 days after the surgery; your new face will begin to emerge then. However, everything should settle 3 to 6 months later (it depends on the patient; sometimes it takes longer). At which point, there’ll be no more swelling, and your face will have more glow.

Facelift does not interfere with the quality of your skin. If you want to improve that, additional applications (stem cell-rich fat transfer, laser treatment, PRP, dermapen, mesotherapy) will be planned.

Yes –After your doctor examines you and looks at your tests, combination of more than one surgery can be planned if there are any obstacles in terms of health and applicability.

    The mini facelift will:

    • Make your jaw line and cheek contours clearer and brighter
    • Rid you of excess skin removed, and make your tighter and smoother.
    • Improve your naso-labial line
    • Bring your features out

We recommend you have a stem cell-rich fat transfer done – especially lack of enough subcutaneous tissue. First we remove fat from another part of your body via liposuction and filter it. While the stem cells repair and boost your skin, fat gives volume and fullness under skin.
