Endoscopic Brow Lift
Endoscopic Brow Lift
When guessing a person’s age, the first place we tend to look on them is their eye contours – that’s where aging reveals itself first. Under-eye, crow’s feet, eyebrows, temples, fine wrinkles on the upper eyelids, sagging, loss of volume, and the amount of relaxation of the skin passes through our eyes within seconds and give us an estimated age range.
If you take good care of yourself, have good genetics (and thus good skin), and a good plastic surgeon who can bring out maximum benefit in you with minimal plastic procedures, then you’re one lucky duck!
Endoscopic eyebrow lift is one of successful plastic surgical procedures that offer maximum benefit with minimal intervention and scarring.
It releases the tissues beneath your eyebrows from the deep plan and is adapted to where else via an incision made approx. 1 cm into your scalp. The result is more dynamic-looking lifted eyebrows, and more taut, younger upper eyelids.

Most of people who have this surgery done are over 35, don’t suffer from excessive deformation, and want their brows to look younger and more dynamic.

- The procedure takes 1 to 2 hours.
- No more fine lines

During your examination, Dr. Ozsular first will listen to your complaints and expectations. Next, he’ll do a physical examination on you based on the degree of sagging, the structure of your eyebrows, your age, your eye structure, the harmony of your facial features, your forehead structure, and the thickness of your subcutaneous tissue, and then figure out the right treatment option is for you.
Then, he’ll photograph your face and its facial expressions from different angles both for medical record purposes and to give you a preview of what your results may look like using photos and simulation.
Dr. Ozsular may tell you to temporarily stop using certain medications – in which case you should do so. (If you take aspirin or any form of anticoagulant, certainly tell Dr. Ozsular and continue only if he tells you to do so.)
Try to reduce how much salt you consume as well a few days before the surgery. This will reduce your risk of developing edema.
You are allowed to eat as well as drink water until 00:00 (12 AM) the night before your surgery. Since the surgery will be conducted with general anesthesia, you will need to fast for at least six hours prior to the procedure. (If you forget to do so, your surgery may be postponed or canceled.)
Don’t forget to wash thoroughly your face the night before the surgery. Don’t wear make-up absolutely.
Don’t wear nail polish or enamel.
Don’t wear wigs. Don’t wear any jewelry (including piercings) – your body should be free of metal.
You will probably return home on the same day. Therefore, you do not need to pack an overnight bag with you. If you come to surgery and go home in the same clothes, then you ought to wear something with wide neck area and a zipper at the front.
On the morning of the surgery, you will be taken to your room to rest. Your final preparations for the surgery will be conducted. Dr. Ozsular and his assistant will come and visit you.
The doctor will begin shaping your brow and temporal region soon as you’re placed under anesthesia.
At the end of the surgery, he’ll photograph your new face, tape the area, numb your operation site with local anesthesia (so that you aren’t in any pain afterwards), and slowly wake you up.
You do not feel any pain and ache while awaking from the surgery. You may feel dizzy for the first few hours after the surgery– this is caused by the effects of general anesthesia. This is normal and temporary.
Your face may feel slightly tight – this is normal.
You’ll be given analgesics to take for first days so that your pain doesn’t continue.
You will develop swelling and edema 2 to 3 hours after the surgery – this is normal, and will subside three days later. To make the process easy, you can apply a cold compress on your face (as prescribed by the doctor). You may develop ecchymosis – it will depend on the nature of your skin and how it responds to trauma.
You can start eating again 4 to 5 hours afterwards – albeit light (generally begin with soup).
You shouldn’t need to stay in the hospital after the surgery. If you feel okay, you can go straight home or back to your hotel.
You shouldn’t do anything heavy labor for the first week after you are discharged hospital. You also shouldn’t take long bed rest. That said, you can go for little walks, and even sunbathe (provided you cover your head and lay down).
For the first 5 to 7 days (until your bandages get removed), you can take short (10-15 minute) showers under warm water. While washing your face, don’t scrub too hard – especially around your eyebrows and temples.
If you want your swelling to heal faster, you should keep your head up.
You’ll be able to return to your normal routine 7 to 10 days after the surgery.
You can start wearing contact lenses again 1 week after the surgery.
Avoid having other procedures done to your face for first 15 days after the surgery.
Avoid moving your eyebrows and face excessively for the first 10 days.
Your eyebrows will have assumed their final new shape 3 to 6 months after the surgery.
The surgery takes 1-2 hours on average. This may prolong if any additional procedures are to be done.
Yes, they are (and not to mention effective!), since your tissues are surgically moved from your deep plan. That said, no surgery can prevent you from aging. It will only make you look 10 to 15 years younger but you get older again.
Yes, but only on your scalp – small incisions will be made there using endoscope.
Eyebrow lift procedures involving threads offer you short-term and more superficial results.
Endoscopic eye-lift, on the other hand, offers you more permanent and effective results as it surgically approaches your eyebrow area from a deeper plan.
